Nikhil Kunduvalappil, P.Eng
Principal Engineer | Co-founder
Nikhil Kunduvalappil is the Principal Engineer and Co-Founder of Spark Engineering Ltd., bringing over 14 years of professional experience in mechanical building systems design, construction coordination, and project delivery across Canada and internationally.
With a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in British Columbia, Nikhil has built a strong foundation in HVAC, plumbing, energy systems, and commercial kitchen ventilation design. His work spans commercial buildings, high-rise residential developments, retrofit projects, and technically complex kitchen and make-up air systems.
Throughout his career, Nikhil has been involved in every stage of project development — from initial concept and system calculations to equipment selection, detailed design, tender documentation, site inspections, and construction administration. His hands-on field experience allows him to create designs that are not only technically sound but also practical and constructible.
Before founding Spark Engineering Ltd., Nikhil worked with multidisciplinary engineering firms in British Columbia and gained valuable international project management experience in the Middle East, leading the design and execution of complex ventilation and pollution control systems for commercial kitchens, industrial facilities, and high-rise building developments. His responsibilities included system engineering, equipment selection, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, site supervision, and ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications. This diverse background gives him a global perspective combined with strong local code expertise.
Nikhil is known for his calm, analytical approach and his ability to coordinate effectively with architects, contractors, developers, and authorities having jurisdiction. He believes engineering should deliver long-term value — balancing efficiency, compliance, constructability, and cost control.
Anjaly Prakash, Co-Founder
Anjaly Prakash is the Founder and managing partner of The Spark Engineering, bringing more than 11 years of specialized experience in civil engineering, construction estimation, and project management. Her career spans complex residential, commercial, and industrial projects, where she has consistently demonstrated precision, technical depth, and a commitment to delivering work of the highest standard.
Anjaly’s professional background includes leadership roles in construction cost estimation, project engineering, and quality control across Canada and India. She has prepared and managed estimates for multimillion‑dollar infrastructure developments, and collaborated closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance at every stage of the project lifecycle.
Anjaly holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering in back home India and completed Construction Estimating at BCIT, strengthening her foundation in both technical design and modern cost‑management practices

With over seven years of industrial experience, he is a highly skilled Energy Advisor dedicated to pushing the boundaries of building efficiency. He holds a Master’s in Energy Management, with a specialized focus on reducing GHG emissions through optimized design strategies.
His unique value lies in the balance between high-level engineering and practical, hands-on expertise; he spent two years as an HVAC mechanic in Vancouver, where he supervised complex installations, managed inventory, and prepared detailed design specifications. Proficient in a wide array of technical tools—including Auto-CAD, eQUEST, ANSYS, and SAM—he combines data-driven modeling with field-tested knowledge to deliver sustainable, high-performance energy solutions for any project.
